In the Press: Sydney Gabrielson, Girl Scouts lifetime member, defended Girl Scouts in a recent guest column in the Knoxville News Sentinel.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that the environment that Girl Scouts provided through outdoor adventure and thought-provoking discussion laid the framework for my success. It was disconcerting to read the article and hear the Girl Scout council diminished to a group that only ‘sells cookies and stands outside Walmart all day.’ I love a good Thin Mint just as much as everyone else, but we all know they’re not the main course, and they’re definitely not the main aspect of Girl Scouts.”
