Girl Scouts help clean up the Obed Wild and Scenic River

As Girl Scouts, we love the outdoors and serving our communities!

To celebrate Earth Day 2018, girls from our council worked with local park rangers to clean up Obed Wild and Scenic River.

This year also marked the 50-year anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1968 that protects wild and scenic rivers from development that would affect with their natural state.

The girls learned about the act and helped protect a wild and scenic river right here in our council area by clearing out invasive plant species and picking up litter and old tires.
