Girl Scouts Celebrate Earth Day

This weekend we celebrated Earth Day and today we celebrate the amazing Girl Scouts who have worked hard to help keep the Earth healthy and beautiful!

For their Silver Award project, Olivia, Ella, and Jessica worked with a park ranger at David Crockett Birthplace State Park to create a perennial flower garden at the campground area entrance. With the goal of establishing a more welcoming and appealing park for visitors, they worked to help design the native perennial garden and went with the park ranger to a local greenhouse to select the plants. They planted over 100 plants!

“I think it is amazing that something as simple as a flower can bring so much joy to people,” said Olivia. “It really doesn’t take a lot to make a huge change in the world. I am glad Girl Scouts has given me such great opportunities to make the world, my world, a better place.”
