“Our goal was to help the school,” said Olivia, “but we helped the community, too.”

Olivia, a Silver Award Girl Scout, created a recycling initiative at her school. She worked with the principal and a sponsor to make sure all the teachers had the proper recycling bins. Olivia also helped educate her school on the importance of recycling by attending school nights and making a bulletin board display in the main hallway.

“Our goal was to help the school,” said Olivia, “but we helped the community, too.”
